Wall Street closes at multi-year highs on positive earnings and fundamental data
The US stocks market has closed positive on Friday with the S&P 500 finishing at 5-year highs and the Nasdaq at highest since 2000. Both indexes have posted their sixth straight week of gains. Dow ends slightly lower, below 14,000.
In the US, the Trade Balance (December) came in at S-38.54B, much less than estimates calling for S-45.8B.
The Dow Jones added 48.92 points or 0.35% to finish the day at 13,992.97, the DJIA posted a 0.12% weekly decline. The S&P 500 gained 8.54 points or 0.57% to close at 1,517.93. The index posted 0.31% weekly gains. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 28.74 points or 0.91% to 3,193.87. The Composite added 0.46% on the week.
