UK election: Hung parliament looks likely - DB
FXStreet (Bali) - George Buckley, Chief Economist at DB, notes that another hung parliament looks likely in the UK, based on the latest polls with less than four weeks to go.
Key Quotes
"The election campaign is stepping up a gear with less than four weeks to go to polling day. There have been no material shifts in the polls since the leaders televised debates, with the Conservatives and Labour continuing to receive roughly the same support as each other (at just under 34%)."
" Another hung parliament looks likely. Based on current polling at least three parties would be required to form a government. This would be easier to achieve for Labour given Scottish Nationalist support. In terms of risks, a Labour led government would reduce the speed of deficit reduction, while a Conservative administration would press for an EU referendum."
