USD/CAD extends decline to test 1.1600

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US dollar continues to trade under pressure on Tuesday and against its Canadian counterpart, the Greenback is pricing at its lowest level since Christmas day around 1.1600.

The USD/CAD is completing a 50-pip decline in the day from 1.1650 to test the 1.1600 level. Currently, USD/CAD is trading at 1.1604, down -0.21% on the day, having posted a daily high at 1.1652 and low at 1.1598.

The hourly FXStreet OB/OS Index is showing oversold conditions, alongside the FXStreet Trend Index which is slightly bearish.

USD/CAD levels

Below the 1.1600, the USD/CAD will find supports at 1.1590, 1.1575 and 1.1565. To the upside, resistances are at 1.1610, 1.1625 and 1.1650.

USD/CAD soft headed towards 1.1600?

Eric Theoret, CFA, CMT, Currency Strategist at Scotiabank noted that the USD/CAD is soft, falling toward 1.1600.
