US stocks close positive amid Fed's script

FXStreet (San Francisco) - Wall Street closed with gains on Wednesday as investors cheered Fed's statement and its confirmation to end bond buying programme but to maintain rates unchanged at least until next year.

The Dow Jones closed at new high despite late pullback and after rising 27.88 pts or 0.15%, the DJIA closed at 17,156.85. The S&P 500 recovered the 2,000 level after gaining 2.59 points or 0.13% to 2,001.57.

The Nasdaq Composite climbed 9.43 points or 0.21% to finish the session at 4,562.19.

USD/JPY jumps above 108.00, fresh 6-year highs

As Greenback soars across the board, USD/JPY rises further above 108.00. The pair printed a fresh 6-year high at 108.38 and remains near the highs, headed toward the highest close since September 2, 2008.

Gold falls to lowest since January

As the US dollar strengthened in the currency market, spot gold plummeted. The value of the ounce bottomed during the American session, after the FED and Yellen, at $1,221/oz, reaching the lowest level since early January.
